Pamela Cassidy has been advising on media law and related issues in London and Dublin for the past thirty years.
Graduating with a degree in Legal Science from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, in 1985, Pamela qualified as a solicitor in Ireland in 1988, and in England & Wales in 1991.
As a partner with a leading libel firm in London, Pamela was involved in many leading cases including the seminal House of Lords decision in Reynolds .v. Times Newspapers Ltd [2001] 2AC 127, a case described in the preface to the latest edition of Gatley on Libel and Slander as “surely the most significant libel case for very many years”. The Reynolds case was introduced into Irish law in July 2003 in the case of Hunter .v. Duckworth & Co Ltd and Blom Cooper, and is appended to the Hutton Report (January 2004).
Pamela returned to Dublin as a partner with BCM Hanby Wallace in 2001, and established Cassidy Law in March 2006.
